Philippine Independence Day 2015

Standard

It was my first time being invited to the Philippine representative office’s Independence Day celebration. We celebrated our 117th Philippine Independence last June 12.

The event was held at Shangri-la and I feel like it could have been organized better especially in relation to the schedule, but who am I to complain right? It’s free food and free drinks for everyone! We got to eat a lot of Filipino food although a lot of the food didn’t taste like the ones we’re used to. I think it probably has something to do with the food being prepared by the Taiwanese hotel chefs. There was also a raffle but we didn’t win anything. The people pictures below are from Patrick’s camera.

After a night of eating, drinking, listening to “classic” Filipino music, we decided to call it a night. We were still a bit hungry so we went to this Greek restaurant near the hotel. They’d already stopped serving food so we ordered drinks instead.

I don’t really have much to say about this evening, just that I was very happy to have been invited and to have been able to spend the night with fellow Filipino friends just enjoying the night away!
