I accompanied Lorraine to run more errands. We went to the immigration agency, and since her uncle’s address is in Taipei County/New Taipei City, we had to go all the way to Banqiao 板橋/Zhonghe 中和! I’m listed under Taipei City so the immigration agency is nearer and it’s more accessible. After she got her ARC, we went to the bank. I helped her open a bank account with Chinatrust 中國信託 (same as mine) – and the reason I chose this bank is because it’s the bank 7-11 is affiliated with. Therefore, whenever you see a 7-11 (and they’re ABUNDANT all around Taiwan) with an ATM machine, you can easily withdraw money or make transactions. Also, their tellers are VERY accommodating. They’re friendly and they will really help you every step of the way. We met up with Jen and her cousin for lunch. We ate at DonMono, which is like Yoshinoya but yummier.

Today, I went to school because I had to return some books to the library. It was also the last day of my ID’s (language center) validity, so I won’t be able to go to the library until I get my student ID (grad school) around 2-3 weeks from now. Today’s also the first day of ghost month, so a lot of businesses followed tradition and burned incense, paper money, offered fruits, snacks, etc.

It feels just like yesterday when I was “welcoming” August, and now, 31 days have passed by. This year’s August has yet again been another awesome month for me. It wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine though. There were also thunderstorms and dark clouds, but generally, it was awesome! Thank You! :)

Here’s to September!
