I had been wanting to go to the beach for a while now, because it’s summer here in Taiwan, and because I miss the beach. Richelle, Roxane, and I decided to go to Baishawan 白沙灣, the nearest beach from Taipei, yesterday. Wee! It was so much fun. From MRT Danshui station, you take a bus (from across the street) direct to Baishawan 白沙灣. It’s that easy! The bus is also cheap – it costs 36NT (for students), and 45NT (for adults).
We rented a tent (300NT), looked for a place to change our clothes, and went swimming! There were a lot of waves, so that was fun! After almost 2 hours in the sea, we ate lunch at the Beach Cafe. Yummy (but a bit overpriced) food! We went back to the sea after eating. Haha! Stayed for almost 2 hours again, and then the beach was closing (boohoo!) so everyone had to leave. We paid 20NT to take a shower/change our clothes, and then we went back to the bus station to wait for the bus. Happy day!
It’s also good that Baishawan 白沙灣 isn’t as popular/famous as Fulong 福隆 beach, because this means that the place isn’t overcrowded. The tents are open spaces, and everyone just usually leaves their things there, so I hope that no evil person ever comes and decides to steal people’s things because that would suck. We need more good people in the world. haha!
