My high school batchmate Bryant came to Taiwan and we met up. He wanted to go to the night market so we went to Shida night market (my cousins’ and mine’s favorite night market). I went there with Roxane and Merry, and he brought along his cousin. First, we made him try the stinky tofu, which he found to be quite all right. I, on the other hand, don’t (and will not) like it.

We also ate this pastry called 冰火菠蘿油, because the cream and butter filling is cold (冰 refers to this part) while the bread is hot (火 refers to this part). It was my first time to eat such a thing, and it was yummy! I think it’s a pastry that originated from Hong Kong or Macau. Other things we ate were takoyaki balls and cookie ice cream sandwiches. Yum!
