Today was Getz Pharma’s 3rd Go Green Day and Mom decided to sign the both of us up for the event! We were fetched at around 6:30 AM. Ughhhh HAHA. We got to La Mesa Eco Park at around 7:45 (the event started at around 9!) and when we got there, they were just about to set up the place!
We decided to walk around for a while. We saw the vermicompost area (but we didn’t see the worms HAHA) and the briefing area and then decided to go back to the pavillion to preserve our energy!
Breakfast consisted of a chicken sandwich, orange juice, and taho!
After that, we watched some videos! Do you know that the UN said that we only have 10 years (I don’t really know when this video was made so I’m not sure if we still have 10 years) to think of a solution to combat global warming/save the environment, or else the effects would be irreversible! Philippines is one of the countries which would sink (or something like that). We can help by conserving water and by segregating our trash and by lessening our use of plastic products, etc.
First thing we did after that was potting! We put soil in plastics and then you have to shake the plastic so that there wouldn’t be air bubbles and so that it would be tightly packed. The soil we used was made up of 60% topsoil, 30% shredded leaves, and 10% vermicompost!
After that is the seedling (I’m not sure if this is what it’s called!) where we put the plant (something?) in plastic pots! After that is the centennial tree planting where we plant these plastic pots in the ground! First you have to tear the plastic pot thing but you have to be careful not to break the formation of the soil, and then you bury it in the ground!
Eco-mazing race after but we didn’t participate in that already. We joined the ocular thing inside the park grounds and we were supposed to get off at the butterfly trail but it was so far from the park entrance and we were so lazy so we changed our minds! Went boating! It was so tiring to row, haha!
First time to go wall climbing! It was scary because it was my first time and I was scared of heights. I was harnessed and stuff, but still! Some of the stones/rocks were also small so I didn’t know how to grab/step on them. I didn’t reach the top but it was all right! I was so shaky after!
Got so dizzy after that because of the heat but we still did the zip line. There was a 4 year old kid who was so small but was so brave! He wanted to try the zip line despite his cousins discouraging him!
After that, we left! I was really feeling dizzy by that time. We passed by McDo for takeout (Big Mac!) and went home!
