November 17, 2011

I went to the library to return the books I borrowed last month. I keep saying this over and over again, but how time flies! A month has passed by. Out of the 6 books I borrowed last month, I was able to read 5. I was a bit lazy to read the last one because it’s more on the technical side (international relations terms in Spanish) and since I won’t be starting my MA program until next year, I’ll just borrow that some other time. I wanted to start reading up on international relations and although my program will be taught in English (and probably a bit of Chinese), I think a Spanish book is also helpful. Hee.

I was able to borrow 7 new books, whose titles you will know sooner or later, because I’ll be updating my “Books 2011″ post once I finish reading them. Yay!

A couple of days ago, I bumped into Kim and his classmate Max on my way home. Apparently, they moved to this apartment a couple of streets down from where I currently live. Later that day, he sent me a message on FB saying how happy he was that we were able to talk for a bit. He then asked if I wanted to have dinner with him sometime. Hahaha! We had dinner earlier tonight at this Italian restaurant near our apartments. We talked about a lot of things and after dinner, we decided to walk around.

Nicole gave me this link for a “win a trip back to Spain contest“. We decided to join because well, it’s worth a shot! I don’t like how the rankings are private, and you will only know the results once the voting period is over. Therefore, I wouldn’t know how I’m doing, so I just have to trust that people I’m asking to vote for me are indeed voting for me. Hihihi.

My back pay has finally been deposited in my payroll account. It’s not much but at least it’s something. I was supposed to transfer it to my untouchable account, but I remembered that I still have to pay my mom for my HK ticket, and there are other bills, so I transferred it to her account instead. Poof, it’s gone! Not that I’m complaining or anything, of course. I don’t have any need for it as of the moment so it’s all right.

I’ve had this link bookmarked for the past couple of years now, but it was only tonight when I decided to really watch it. Cool! I recognize most, if not all, of the places included here. Awesome video!

I was looking for a Madrid 2010 or 2011 video from the user but there wasn’t one. I saw this video that he posted a couple months back instead. Nice!

Til we see each other again, Spain! I boarded the 10:30AM flight to Amsterdam, and then the connecting flight to Manila. I’m gonna miss Spain! This experience has really taught me a lot, so I’m so thankful that I was given this opportunity!! :)

Day 26 – el último día de las clases

Day 26 – el último día de las clases

We had a typical Spanish breakfast — churros con chocolate. We also ordered the porros (bigger churros? LOL) to try them out. Chocolatería San Gines is a very famous churros place in Madrid so we decided to try it out but we still prefer the one we had at Toledo. It was thicker and chocolatier (hihi)!

Last day of classes at UAM! :(

Last minute shopping! :))

Day 25

Day 25

Nic and I went to Museo Reina Sofia. I really liked Picasso’s Guernica. Seeing it in person is so inspiring! It’s huge and it’s amazing! :) if you have the chance, you should go to Madrid to see it.

We had our presentation today! I was able to taste food from different countries. In turn, our classmates were also able to taste our Adobo and Bibingka. They loved it! :)

Nic and I watched Real Madrid vs. Galatasaray at the Santiago Bernabéu. It wasn’t as hyped as the FC Barcelona match of course, but at least we were able to watch a game live! :)
